The Start-up Visa Program is Federal Entrepreneur Program. Unlike the Provincial Entrepreneur programs, the requirements are not very stringent to qualify for this program. The program revolves around getting support for a developing or developed business idea that is innovative, scalable, creates jobs, and is globally competitive. This main requirement also makes it very challenging.
The Start-up Visa Program like any other immigration program involves risks and challenges. It is a complex process that involves multiple stages and various checks and balances. It is not an easy to come up with a working, brilliant, innovative business idea that can compete globally, and is viable, feasible, and scalable. Don’t fall prey to illegal immigration agents or third-party intermediaries that try to make the program look fancy and give false commitments.
Letter of support
It is a document of support required from a designated organization (a business group that has been approved to invest in or support possible start-ups)
Language ability
A minimum level of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 is required in either English or French in all four skillset areas i.e speaking, reading, listening & writing
Qualifying business
The creation of a business that meets the condition of individual voting rights (10% or more) AND total voting rights by the applicants and the designated organizations (more than 50%)
Settlement funds
Proof of settlement funds is required to show that applicants have enough money to support themselves in Canada. The funds required depends on the number of accompanying family members
At the time of receiving the permanent residency, the proof is to be provided of active and ongoing management of qualifying business from within Canada. The essential part of the operations of the business should happen in Canada.

Stage
Designated entities play an integral role in the program as they assess entrepreneurs' business proposals; foreign entrepreneurs must have a letter of support from a designated entity to be eligible for Start-up Visa. These organizations may only fulfil this role if they have been designated by the Minister to do so.
This stage involves the eligibility assessment of each applicant. It also involves idea testing, SWOT, traction analysis, creation of the business plan.
This stage involves the submission of the business plan to the designated organization for getting the letter of support. Each designated organization have their own application process.
This stage involves preparation and submission of Permanent resident and work permit applications.
